There are several things in life that I am really passionate about. As in, put me on a soap box and let me speak for an hour puh-lease. One of those things happens to be decorating with pictures. Not that you would currently know from looking at my naked walls, but HEY, I have a plan in place … it’s in the works (will share soon!) ANYWAY, I love walking into someones home and seeing their walls plastered with their own faces. I remember feeling like it was kind of weird when I was first married … you know, you’d walk into the home of your newlywed friends and they would have the familiar “shrine to themselves” of wedding and engagement pictures on every surface.
Well I don’t think it is weird anymore.
I’ve had an awakening. I ask myself: What are the things that matter most to me in the whole wide world? And I only have two answers: My faith and my family. So what better things to cover every single inch of my walls with than lovely images of faith and family?? So I will take down the pretty flowers, the cutesy shelves of stuff … and I’m replacing them with lots and lots of LARGE pictures. Pictures of memories, pictures of traditions, pictures of playtime … pictures of my world: My family.
So why the long intro (that I really could continue blah-blah-ing about … but I’ll save it for another post ;) … well, as I was editing the Czech family pictures I kept picturing wall displays in my mind! The lovely fall colors, the bright pop of red in the clothing and the.most.cooperative one year old ever … and I couldn’t help myself. I was seeing in my mind a 20×30 horizontal family picture with a 16×20 on each side of little P. with each parent (LOVE those pics btw Jorden and Dan!) with 12×18 prints on each end of little P. by himself (OR four 10×10′s stacked vertially, two on each side … hmmm ..).
I love wall displays. (Though as you can see, I always tend to think in lines … it’s hard for me to think asymmetrically! )
ANYWAY. Enough rambling. For today at least. Here is the lovely Chezch family in the fall:
